Inspiration
I was chilling at a cafe in Culter City on a Saturday. There were many people walking their dogs near a fountain. I noticed something interesting: most of them stopped by the fountain and tried to take a picture for their dogs. However, they all struggled with the same problem — getting their pets to look at the camera.
What is even more intersted is that, they all used a similar tricks, which was making weird sounds with their mouths or with a squeaky toys. It worked, but it looked awkward, especially in public. That's when I had the idea: what if I could put everything together into one camera app? Dog owners wouldn't have to awkwardly make sounds in public just to get a good picture.
Solution
Pawfecto is a camera app designed specifically for pet photography. I took inspiration from the iPhone camera app but replaced the bottom scrolling features with sound selections that I found online, including dogs—barking, squeaky toys, doorbells, whistles, ultrasonic tones, that are attractive to dogs.
How It Works
- Open the app and select a sound from the bottom carousel (14 built-in options)
- Tap once to play the sound — your dog's attention is immediately drawn to the phone
- Tap the shutter button again to capture the perfect shot
- All pictures are automatically saved to your gallery
The app also lets you record custom sounds if your pet responds better to specific noises.
